Erna's Story

The above photo is of Erna the day after she was taken to our local vet,
after she was bathed and brushed.

We feel that the photos taken at the Conover Veterinary Hospital the day we dropped Erna off for surgery less then a week after we got her tells the story of Erna far better then any words we could use. Be Aware, These are photos are Graphic. Three show her belly and chest area. Her lymph glands under her front legs (not shown) were infected and oozing. One photo is of a huge scar that appears never sutured because it was over 1/4 inch wide. She also was missing half of an ear.

Erna was bred in Canada (we have her CKC registration), and sold to a "Breeder" in the USA who was and still is a member of NSDTRC USA. After numerous litters (some unregistered), living in horrendous conditions (I had been to the kennel on two occasions) Don found out that she was slated to be PTS because she was "not producing anymore". With the help of another Rescue Volunteer, we were able to get Erna out of this horrible situation. After two surgeries and time to heal, we were able to place Erna in a wonderful home where she was the queen of the house.

Here are two pictures of Erna about a year latter in March of 2004. Healthy and Happy!

Erna crossed the Rainbow Bridge in July 2006. Rest well my sweet girl.
